1. Wash your bike after you ride. Get the dirt and debris off your bike and once you get in the habit of a post ride washing, it becomes second nature and you'll be able to wash your bike almost without thinking about it.

2. keeping your chain from getting stuck will save you a huge amount of problems.

3. Give your brake pads a good going over and make sure there is no wear.

Simple maintenance is easy once you get in the habit of it and it will let you have a safer and longer lasting pitbike ride.

Simple Dirt Bikes maintenance:

1.Chains are vital links to the enjoyment of dirt riding.

2.brake pads: should have at least 2mm of thickness

3.sprockets: should not have hooked teeth. Figure at least $50 for new sprockets if they're needed. And if it needs new sprockets, it needs a new chain.

4.tires : If they fail to meet any of these criteria, figure on buying new ones right away. New tires that are worth buying go for at least $50 each. Tires cheaper than this are generally not worth buying.

5.Wheels : wheels should turn with a minimum of effort. If not, then figure either the brakes are dragging or the wheel bearings are shot. Neither is difficult to repair, but figure this in when deciding on your top price.

Check your pit bike for loose bolts, loose spokes and tighten up anything that is loose. Give the bike a general going over to check for loose bolts, spokes and that everything is where it should be.
