Sometimes a third wheel is added to support an open carriage, called a sidecar, which is attached to the motorcycles.
Although the motorcycle is not as safe a vehicle as the automobile, its convenience and economy have made it very popular; it is widely used for pleasure riding, racing, and commercial transportation of light goods. Modern touring motorcycles provide automatic transmission, stereo sound, and luggage space.
Motorcycles are widely used by the police for traffic patrols. Use of the motorcycle has increased greatly in recent years as a result of the development of the inexpensive, lightweight motorcycle, manufactured chiefly in Asia.
Motorcycle Safety
200cc Motorcycles have a far higher rate of crippling and fatal accidents per unit distance than automobiles. According to the US Highway Safety Authority. Given that Motorcycles cover less distance than cars per year on average, the figure per unit distance is likely to be much worse. Most of these accident are caused by car drivers though who tend to underestimate the speed and acceleration of motorcycles or simply overlook them.

How to Buy A Motorcycle?
Everyone loves motorcycles. Some people will tell you they're scary and dangerous, and they may be right, but they're lying when they say they don't like them. While many bikes look similar, they may behave in completely different ways, based primarily on their engine size, configuration and intended use. Before deciding on a bike, be sure you understand these basic differences.follow basic element:
Size : Motorcyclesare frequently identified by their engine size. For example, a Honda CBR600 has an engine with a cylinder volume of 600 cubic cm (cc). If you're not sure of the engine size, look for an identifying sticker on the frame, below the handlebars.
Power: So, the larger the cylinder volume (cc) the more power, right? Not always. Engine configuration and design matter too. A highly tuned, four-cylinder 600 cc machine has much more power than a singlecylinder 600 cc machine. The four-cylinder bike is also wider and heavier--important considerations for a novice looking for a stable ride.
Single-cylinder: Many bikes designed for both on and off the road use a singlecylinder engine. This keeps the overall weight of the bike relatively low but also reduces horsepower.
