Choosing the right Electric Motorized Scooter :
Choosing an electric motorized scooter may seem like a daunting task, with so many models and features to choose from. By asking yourself a few simples questions about how you plan to use your new scooter, it is easy to make an informed decision.
The key factors to consider when selecting your electric motorized scooters are range, rider weight, terrain, portability, climate, budget and stand up vs. sit-down. But before you consider these you must first determine what you will use the e-scooter for. That will help you with the other factors.
Range: Range is how far the batteries will take you on a single charge. Most electric motorized scooters have a standard range of approximately 8 miles under ideal conditions (flat land, no wind, skinny rider). Range varies a lot depending on rider weight, hill climbing and temperature. The heavier the rider is the less range the scooter will get. The more hills, the less range. Extreme temperatures, either hot or cold, affect battery performance too, by about 20%. What you need to ensure is that your scooter matches your route. Figure out how far you need to go and what the terrain is like to be sure to get enough range (don t forget to calculate your weight in too).
Portability: How much will you need to carry the electric motorized scooter around? Electric Motorized Scooters are super because they are so small, but some are heavier than others and not as easy to fold. They range in weight from 31 lbs all the way up to 98 lbs! Not everyone can carry all of those scooters. For some, a 46 lb scooter up a five-story walk up is no big deal. Others wouldn't dream of carrying that weight more than 5 steps! this is mone importance !

ELECTRIC Motorized SCOOTER MAINTENANCE:
Before operating your electric scooter:
• Make sure the tires are inflated properly. Small tires loose air pressure quickly and must be aired frequently. Most small tires can accept air pressure to 85 psi. This allows the tire to properly contact the surface and keeps the tube from rotating inside the tire during braking and acceleration. If the tube rotates, the valve stem will possibly be cut or torn from the inner tube. This will require replacement of the inner tube.
• Charge the battery. Batteries should be charged frequently, especially after prolonged usage that runs the battery down. Allow the batteries to cool for an hour or more before charging. Heat will damage batteries and it is helpful to keep batteries as cool as possible during use or charging.
• Keep the right tension on your drive belt (or chain) during use. A loose drive belt will allow the teeth to slip and wear at an excessive rate. Failure of the belt will occur due to slippage or the heat generated due to improper tension. The belt can be adjusted by moving the rear tire forward or aft. Check your specification, but look for approximately one-half to one-quarter inch gap when pressing against the middle of the span. It is important to prevent slippage.
• Do not ride electric scooters through water or mud, or even on wet grass since water can cause failure of the electrical components! Electric scooters are meant to be ridden on dry hard surfaces.
